About Our Product Reviews

Solid Starts’ mission is to help families introduce real food to babies, prevent picky eating, and find joy at the table. All of our product recommendations are motivated entirely by our mission. Our goal is to make mealtime easier and set up your family for success at the table. Read more about our story. 

Solid Starts is a team of licensed pediatric professionals, including feeding therapists, swallowing specialists, pediatricians, an allergist, pediatric dietitians and nutritionists, lactation consultants, and passionate parents. We are the only comprehensive multidisciplinary pediatric platform for feeding. We’re also parents—and everything we do, including every single product we recommend, is filtered through our experience as moms, dads, and caregivers. 

We are also completely independent. We recommend a product only when we honestly believe, based upon review and vetting by our team, that the quality of the product is worth your consideration. We have a policy against gifts and never request or accept free products in exchange for reviews. Instead, we purchase the products we review, just as you do. 

On our product review pages, you'll see that, in addition to our recommendations, there are links to online retailers, such as Amazon, where you can purchase the products. Many retailers have "affiliate programs" that allow companies and organizations to get a commission if they link to a retailer's website.
